War Orphans
The war that has raged for 18 years in Northern Uganda has left its people in abject poverty, incapacitated to participate in any development activity. More than 1.6 Million people have been forced to leave their homes. Deprived of their means of livelihood, once proud farmers and their families now depend entirely on food they receive in camps for internally displaced persons (IDP’s). No one knows how many people have died as a result of the 18 years conflict. Schools, homes, villages, and families have been destroyed.
Majority of Children have lost their parents or parents have lost their income generating activities & therefore are not in the position to provide for their Children. Even if the war ends, surviving parents will not have the capacity to send their children to school. We need your help today to help such children go to school, for only US$ 60 a term (3 Months) you will have given a child school fees, books, pens, pencils, shoes, uniform and medical care.
Many of such Children above have remained total orphans with no home and a relative. Their parents have been killed by the Lords Resistance Army rebels.
